Britax the Car Seat Manufacturer

Do you know anything about the manufacturer of the Roundabout car seat? Unlike in other industries where the CEO is high profile and well known (think Apple or Microsoft!), the Britax management are a bit low key. I thought I should share my research about Britax. Sometimes we got too focused about the products and yet it is important as well to know more about the company that manufactures the product that we'd like to use. Researching Britax on the Internet gained me a little bit of understanding about the company. It would be good as well if buyers of their product will have the same.

Britax ChildCare Inc.
Britax originally started in the UK as part of a 50 year old British specialist manufacturing company. The childcare division was spun off and sold to American private equity firm, the Carlyle group in September 2005 for £230 million. The company producst are branded in the UK and North America as Britax. It also goes as Safe ‘n’ Sound and Steelcraft in Australia and other countries.

Britax Childcare products which includes a premium range of children's car seats and wheeled goods enjoys a very good reputation all over the world for quality, reliability and safety. It's reputation was built through savvy business marketing, innovation and quality products. As an example, it is the leader in the development and promotion of ISOFIX. A technology which I think is the best in providing safety for a child inside the car.

Britax Commitment to Safety
For Britax, child safety is the number 1 priority. They have an entire range of product that gives protection from newborn to toddlers and as your child grows into adolescence. They invests heavily in research and development and uses crash simulators to test their products before they release them. Britax is just one of a few car seat manufacturers that has it's own dedicated crash test facilities similar to the that used by car manufacturers. Since the time they started, they have focused on child car safety and have grown significantly and expanded globally with child safety at the heart of their business.
